If you’re in your late 30s or 40s and struggling with how to get a promotion at work, you’re not alone. You may have met disappointment and frustration trying to move up the organizational ladder. You’re in what is commonly known as Generation X, stuck between Baby Boomers who aren’t ready to give up their jobs, and ambitious Millennials eager to pass you by.

I’ve also been in the position to promote people who worked for me. Through these experiences, I’ve nailed down some tips that may help you move your career to the next level.

  • Jon, it’s fun to see you live! Excellent tips for excelling at work too. Character is so important, and so is self-care–which is an area that I have been trying to attend to more lately. With the kiddo’s, all of their activities, work, and life, finding time for sleep & healthy habits isn’t easy. I can, however, attest to the fact that it does make a huge difference. After a time of rest I am always happier & more productive too.
